About Smoflipid
MOFLIPID contains :
30% Soybean oil
A reliable source of essential fatty acids
30% MCT
A source of rapidly available energy
25% Olive oil
A supply of monounsaturated fatty acids
15% Fish oil
a valuable source of the very long-chain w-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

Indications
Where EN is:
| Insufficient (e.g. Patients with burns or multiple trauma, who have high energy requirements) |
| Undesirable (e.g. patients with pancreatitis or fistulae) |
| Ineffective (e.e. patients with severe malabsorption or short bowel syndrome) |
| Impossible (e.g. patients with surgical resection of the gut, intestinal obstruction or pseudoobstruction) |
Dosage :

The standard dose is 1.0 - 2.0 g fat/kg body weight (b.w) / day, corresponding to 5 - 10 ml/kg
Adults
The standard dose is 1.0 - 2.0 g fat/kg body weight (b.w) / day, corresponding to 5 - 10 ml/kg b.w./day. The recommended infusion rate is 0.125 g fat/kg b.w./hour, corresponding to 0.63 ml SMOFlipid/kg b.w./hour, and should not exceeed 0.15 g fat/kg b.w./hour, corresponding to 0.75 ml SMOFlipid /Kg b.w./hour.
